I am a Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of British Columbia. My research concerns the organization of feature maps in the brain, particularly the way in which maps of features in the visual centres of the brain develop early in life and how they are organized in adult brains. I also do clinical research on the early detection of glaucoma and teach a course entitled "Introduction to Computational Neuroscience". In my spare time I study the baroque flute and occasionally perform professionally.
I have a page about my musical life...
